The next release! (#12)

Sep 3, 2021

It is time to announce the next release! I've continued work on things that were suggested by the community.

Since I've reworked the desktops I felt it was time to as well touch applications which pretty much stayed the same since the beginning.

Improved Passsafe

First of all the current interface of the password management software was a mess. It was cluttered difficult to handle and users had problems navigating and finding the password they were looking for.

I've redesigned the interface to make it more user-friendly. It now marks accounts you own or accounts owned by other players. It is possible to search for these markers, by domains, IPs, and even usernames and account ids. this helps a lot to find the right password. I've also simplified copying passwords and it now offers a button to directly copy an ssh command for use in the terminal, this is a convenient feature whished by many people.

The view is customizable and can display more information. But for players who wish for a more simplified visualization, it can be shrunken down as well as seen in the screenshot above.

The new PassSafe is still not finished, I'm expecting feedback on what still can be improved, to further make handling passwords and credentials in hackero better.

A Redesigned Mailing Experience

The mailing app was one of the first apps I've implemented in mid-2019 and it nearly stayed the same since then. Since then the mailing system grew and got more and more features added, but the app did not adapt to the growing needs. A lot of players were annoyed by how easy the UI would clutter by doing a few missions or just signing up for a few shops.

That is the reason why I've decided to redesign the app completely. It now groups messages by conversations. This is not just for messages sent from one player to another but also for mails sent while fulfilling missions etc.

It now also shows outgoing messages and incoming messages, every message can be deleted by itself or you can trash the whole conversation. This makes managing mails much simpler. For example earlier when you finished a mission you had to delete multiple emails separately. Now trashing the conversation is enough.

When speaking of missions, their interface also got much more clear, displaying information and actions about the mission in a sleek bar above the conversation

Mission interface (domain names are censored)

To summarize this up I'd like to show how the desktop has changed from the first version to the current desktop as it is today:
